Have you ever had a hole in one or do you believe that it is so improbable that it will never happen to you. Well don’t despair because you never know when that cherished result may prevail. Two results over the past couple of weeks should give heart to those who have all but given up hope. Two weeks ago our captain Merv and ex president Brian were out having a round on this course and on the 8th hole as both Brian and Michael (Treasurer) had previously done, our captain holed out for his first hole in one after nearly 4 decades of playing. Not to be outdone another member Kevin P. while playing with the Valvoline social club at Fairfield last Saturday holed out on the 9th for his first hole in one after nearly 54 years of playing. Understandably both were ecstatic so who will be next.
Most must have been trying hard at this game as well as many came in with stories of how the tee shot had just shaved past the hole, but unfortunately did not go in. Disappointing as those shot may have been, the course also played hard as the grass on fairways and rough was long due to the inclement weather over the preceding few days and reflected in unusually low scores. Congratulations to our winner Tim who handled the conditions best.
