Georges River

What looked like being a rainy miserable day turned into a glorious autumn day and with the rain gone by tee off all present looked forward to an enjoyable day of golf. Once again our numbers were down due illness and we wish them a speedy recovery. Others were also probably of the view that the wet weather was going to continue and contribute to an unpleasant round of golf and made the decision to withdraw. Except for a few gusts of wind drying out the course, the day was quite pleasant with the sun breaking through from time to time warming up the day. The course however was not in the best of condition with temporary greens in play and others with patches of bare earth in various sizes throughout the greens making putting difficult. Despite these obstacles (or maybe because of them), putting was not too bad with the winner posting 29 putts winning on a countback.
