Before commenting on the last game for the season, I would be remiss if I did not make mention of the passing of one of our long serving members Col Wilton. Col started playing in our annual inter factory contest in 1981 and continued until the clubs merged and started playing the monthly competitions in 1992 and continued until failing health finally stopped him in 2018/19. He was not only a long time member and golfer, but also a friend to all in his company. VALE Colin.
On a lighter side, we finished the season with our usual 4 ball ambrose and once more, despite predictions, the outsider of the field prevailed. Well done to them. It was fun and an enjoyable time was had by all. Despite the tough year with Covid and the restrictions imposed, we still managed to complete our competitions. Our annual winners this year had a couple of surprises for the recipients. After many years of trying and coming close, Tim finally managed to come through and land the club stroke champion. Well done and no more deserving. The winner of the stableford is another who continually improved throughout the year (no doubt assisted by the practice rounds) and that is Mark who with his consistency also took out the Presidents cup. The final winner, the putting competition, was won by another consistent player who most certainly be in the mix again net year is Peter. Well done and congratulations to all.
