Our first game for the year at Fairfield and unfortunately it was as bad as I have seen it for many years. Many greens had bare patches and cocky damage. On the plus side, the new green on the third is now in play and further renovations are evident with work on the 11th tee and fairway on the 16th. Notwithstanding, a good turnout of sixteen players saw some fantastic golf from our Secretary to turn in a match winning score of 46 points. He must have been practicing over the break or it was all bottled up waiting to be unleashed. Whatever the reason a game breaking result and well done Tim. Today also featured two new visitors to our club with one being from overseas and one from the inner city as well as another who completed his third card. To our new visitors and our new member I extend a welcome to all and trust you will continue to enjoy your golf in our company for many years to come.

Well done Merv, thats the earliest posting I have seen for many a long year,I like the early posting because if you leave it later I have forgotten all about the game and your report means little to me,this is of course due my old age,but this report I can relate to as I can still remember the game and its outcome.Thank you for supporting your aged and afflicted golf club members.
